A teenager from the region has found out he will be having life changing surgery after a massive fundraising effort.
Kier McArthur from Coatbridge who has cerebral palsy, plans to travel to America in October and again in November to undergo revolutionary surgery that could change his physical ability within hours.
The surgery will cost £60,000 with three quarters already been raised in 11 months, after hosting a sportsman dinner which raised £15,000 as well as receiving donations from individuals and groups like the Coatbridge firefighters who held a zumba festival and car wash and raised over £2,000.
